Sanskrit to English Word Meaning -
Tryambakam – three-eyed God; Yajamahe – worship you my lord; Sugandhim – fragrant; Pusti – well nourished, (prosperity; Vardhanam – increaser; Urvarukam – cucumber; Ive – like; Bandhana – from bondage of worldly attachments; Mrtyor – mortality; Muksiya – may you liberate; Ma- me; Amrat – for the sake of living Long life

Translation :
We worship the three eyed one( Lord Shiva ),who is fragrant and who takes care of all the beings,may he give me long living life ,for the sake of long life even as the cucmber is severed from its bondage of the vine.Om peace Peace Peace Lord Shiva.

Saraswathi- O Goddess of Knowledge Saraswathi, Namstubhyam-I bow and provide salutations to you; varade-you are the one who gives us the boons that we ask; kamarupini- You are the one who fulfills all my desires; vidyarambaham-Providing knowledge and studies; karisyami-I am leaving; siddhirbhavatu-may there be fulfillment of all my wishes; me- for me; sada- always.

Translation
O ! Goddess Saraswathi , I bow and provide my saluations to you.You are the one who gives us the boons that we ask,you are the one who fulfils all of my desires,you had given me the power to start my studies,Am leaving ,Please bless me for the fulfilment of all my wishes always.

Brief Explanation
This prayer is chanted before we attend a class (or) at the beginning of one's studies,so that all the leaving may resolve in knowledge alone.This is to address to Goddess Saraswathi .

Goddess saraswathi who resembles the symbol to all forms of Knowledge ,who is the power of speech and arts,As knowledge is a most important pursuit to human life.And a life of study and learning will automatically provide discipline to the human intellect.In the vedic culture studies are considered one's duty.

Karagre-on the tip of your fingers; vasate- to live; Lakshmi- Goddess of wealth and prosperity; karamule- on the base of your hands; Saraswathi- the Goddess of Knowledge and speech; karamadhye- in the centre of your hands; tu-whereas; Govindah-Lord Krishna(Vishnu); prabhate-early in the morning; karadarshanam-look at your palm.

Translation -
On the tip of your fingers is Goddess of wealth( Goddess Lakshmi ) on thebase of your finge is Goddess saraswathi .In the center of your fingers is Lord Govinda ,In this manner please look at your palm.

Brief Explanation -
This is a Morning prayer called "Karadarshana".One should begin the day with this prayer .'Kara' means the palm of the hand which stands for the five karmendriyas,or the organs of action.Looking at your palm means,invoking the lord of various deities And satisfying all the actions in that day.By remembering the lord who gives us the strength to perform action and who gives us fruits to eat and stay healthy throughout the day.In this way one should chant the mantra and perform the action in order to satisy the Lord.
